FAQ – Videoendoscope Series GM
How does the GM series differ from the GX series?
Both are flexible video endoscopes, but they cover different ranges. The GM series is built around two probe diameters — 3.9 mm and 6.2 mm — with working lengths from 1.5 to 3 m. The GX series spans 0.9 to 8.4 mm and lengths up to 10 m, and has a larger display. The GM is the compact choice for clearly defined inspection tasks, the GX the flexible one for changing requirements.
Which probe diameters and working lengths are available?
The GM series is available with probe diameters of 3.9 mm and 6.2 mm, with working lengths from 1.5 m to 3 m. Which combination makes sense depends on the access point and insertion depth — narrow channels call for diameter, deep pipe systems for length.
What does 360° damped articulation mean in practice?
The probe tip can be articulated in any direction via the joystick and holds its position without springing back. This lets you examine or document a spot without constantly correcting the controls.
Why is the probe sheathed in tungsten braiding?
The tungsten braiding protects the probe against abrasion when it is guided over edges, weld seams or rough internal surfaces. That is where flexible endoscopes usually wear out first — the sheathing extends service life accordingly.
Can the probes be exchanged?
Yes. The modular design allows the probe to be changed on the same monitor unit. One device therefore covers different diameters and lengths, instead of requiring several complete endoscopes.
